Latvia

Latvia is a republic in north-eastern Europe and is one of the Baltic countries. It also borders Estonia to the north, Lithuania and Byelorussia to the south, and Russia to the east. In terms of geographical location, area, and population, Latvia is the middle Baltic country, sharing similarities with both of its neighbours. Its language, Latvian, is in the Baltic family along with its close relative and neighbour Lithuanian. The western half of the country shares its main religion, Lutheranism, with Estonia, while the eastern half is predominantly Catholic.
